Inclusion Europe, together with FENACERCI, is organising a workshop for self-advocates about voting, politics, and rights.

The workshop takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, on 3 and 4 February 2026.

At the event, people will learn about:

• Their right to vote and taking part in politics.
• The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, especially about the rigth to participation in political and public life.
• How politics works in Portugal.
• How the European Union works and why it matters to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
• How organisations and public bodies support political participation of people with intellectual disabilities.
• Accessible elections and voting.

The event is for self-advocates, people with intellectual disabilities, and disability organisations. It is also for anyone interested in inclusion, voting, and democracy.

There will be presentations, discussions, and time for questions. Everyone can share their ideas and experiences.

The workshop is part of the UNITY project. The project works to improve political participation of people with intellectual disabilities. It is funded by the European Union.
